We offer the following appointments: 

• Health Consultation -- Our appointments are 30 minutes long, not 20 minutes which is what many other practices allow.  We believe this extra-long appointment give us plenty of time to examine your pet and discuss any husbandry, behavioral, or nutritional concerns you may have.  We will talk to you about wellness screening and come up with a plan to diagnose and treat any problems detected on the physical examination.
  • Rabbits, Ferrets, and Guinea Pigs: Please remember to bring in a fresh urine sample so we may screen for kidney and bladder health.  A fresh fecal sample should also be brought along so we may screen for certain illnesses, particularly zoonotic diseases which are transmissible to humans.
  • Birds: Please remember to bring a few hours worth of fresh droppings along with your bird as these provide vital clues to your bird's health. We may screen the droppings for zoonotic diseases.
  • Reptiles and Amphibians: Please remember to bring in a fresh fecal sample with your reptile or amphibian so we may screen for parasites, particularly zoonotic diseases such as pentastomes.
• Drop-off Consultation -- If you're on the go but have a pet that needs care, you may arrange to leave your pet with us.  Drop-off appointments allow you to get your pet to the hospital before our normal appointment hours or allow you to drop off a pet sometime durin the day without waiting around for the examination.  Dr. Johnson or Dr. Wright will examine your pet and call you back with recommendations about its care.  You may pick your pet up at your convenience later that day or, if needed, have your pet spend the night with us for a small fee and pick up the following day. 
• Emergency Consultation -- If you have an exotic pet that needs urgent care during our office hours, we'll strive to see you right away.  Call first to check our availability.  If we can't help you, we'll offer you another veterinarian who might be able to help.
• Technician Services -- Our technicians are able to provide many services such as nail trims, grooming of wings and nails, administering medications, and various other minor procedures that are needed for your pet's good health and appearance.
• House Call Consultations -- This is for those of you who have a bunny that doesn't enjoy car rides, a Galapagos tortoise too big to fit in the car, a bamboo shark that can't leave its aquarium, or a menagerie of many different animals that would be impossible to get to our hospital.  House calls are of limited availability so please understand that we may not be able to schedule these in a timely manner.
• Phone, Fax, and Email Consultations -- Please see our Distance Diagnosis page for more information on how we may help patients that live too far away to visit our hospital.
